Terms & Conditions
  1. Please provide as much notice as possible on any cancellations. There is a chance this slot can be filled if there is plenty of notice. I will endeavour to give as much notice as possible, should I need to cancel on you. We can try to rearrange the lesson for an alternative day if schedules allow. If the cancellation is made on the day of the lesson, it may still be charged at full price. If cancellations of peak time lessons (after-school) persist, then this may prompt a conversation about whether that particular day and time should be changed.

  2. There is no requirement to commit yourself to any period of time for lessons. Should you wish to cease lessons, no notice period is required, but please let me know at your earliest convenience.

  3. Unless otherwise agreed, lessons will be on a weekly basis at the same time and day each week. If the lesson falls on a public holiday or during school holiday time, we will assume the lesson is not on. During school holidays, alternative lesson times may be arranged, for everyone’s convenience. There is no obligation to attend during these breaks. Rescheduling for these times will usually take place in the week or two leading up to the break.

  4. Lessons will be invoiced for at the end of each month - please make payment before the next month’s invoice is sent out.

  5. Occasionally a lesson may run late through no fault of anyone’s and this will of course have a knock on effect for the rest of the schedule as I will still aim to give everyone their full lesson time. In very rare circumstances, and as a result of running late, I may need to shave a little time from a lesson if there is a time-sensitive circumstance later in the schedule. Please know, that at some point, this will be made up back to you with extra time at a future lesson, or a discount of some kind should this be significant enough.

  6. If you arrive late and no lesson is booked immediately after your slot, I will aim to give you the full lesson time. If there is someone booked in immediately after, I won’t be able to overrun, for reasons stated in point 5.

  7. The lesson time you opt for is time set aside for the student to attend. This cannot be a solid block of teaching and learning. Apart from the lesson, it includes a meet & greet and a plan moving forward. I aim to deliver high end music tuition and so pushing my students to reach their full potential is my priority. Some students may benefit from the lesson being broken up with either a short chat or to watch a music video, for inspirational reasons. These moments are specifically designed to re-energise the student and to build rapport. It also helps focus those students who struggle to concentrate fully for the full lesson.

  8. If progress with learning is stalling, and it is apparent there is a lack of practice between lessons, this may prompt a conversation as to whether lessons are still appropriate. This is by no means disciplinary, just an open discussion about the right course of action moving forward.

  9. These are your lessons. Please communicate with me if we’re moving too fast, too slow, lessons are too heavy or not challenging enough. My default approach will be to get the best out of the students. Some students may be coming purely for fun or to unwind, with no intention of practicing or progressing, please inform me if this is your approach as I can tailor the lessons differently for these students.

  10. And lastly, thank you so much for choosing to attend lessons with myself. It can be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences to learn to play music. I am in such a privileged position to experience this journey with yourselves, and I very much look forward to getting started!
